How many different diets have you tried in the past that simply haven’t worked? What makes diets fail so miserably? It’s incredible how many people still teach the myth that dieting by eating less will result in weight loss. The truth is that when we eat a lot less than we need we could actually gain weight instead of losing it. We are designed to read restricted food intake with starvation. When we constantly eat less we trigger our body’s starvation preservation mode. To help maintain a healthy weight we need to eat a diet that have plenty of complex carbohydrates (such as veggies, pulses etc) and people who are overweight consume diets that contain more fat and starchy carbs. We need to fully understand how our bodies work in order to create a successful weight loss program. One of the best ways to lose weight fast is to adopt a low carb diet where you closely monitor the amount of carbohydrates you eat each day, but are not too concerned about the other foods. Don’t see this as an excuse to overeat, as you still need to watch quantities, by keeping your portion sizes down, and ensuring you get the right combination of healthy nutritious foods which are also low in saturated fats. Lifestyle and eating habits contribute greatly to gaining weight and the weight gradually crept up over time rather than overnight. Because it took a long time to gain the weight, it’s likely to take some time to get back to your healthy weight as well. Individuals who do not understand the balance between eating right, taking in plenty of water, physical exercises and making sure they get enough sleep are easy pickings to those pushing the current fad diet, weight loss pill or quick weight loss diet . It’s not hard to find these fad or celebrity weight loss plans and diet pills. Because most individuals today have been programmed to want everything now, it’s much easier to think (or even believe) that a magic does exist that can burn off fat virtually overnight, than to believe that we have power to improve our lives and have a much better life where being overweight is the thing of the past. Diets are doomed to failure because they do not show you how to create a healthy balance within your body. Diets will fail because they are designed towards making someone or some company money rather than producing a weight loss plan or program that will truly encourage an individual to lose weight. We hear everywhere that people who are overweight are more likely to succumb to illnesses and other life shortening health problems owing to obesity. Too much fat in your diet is a major contributor to excess body fat. For too many years people have been instructed that they need to cut down on food or watch every last calorie in order to burn off excess fat. Believe it or not our bodies know perfectly well how to manage weight assuming that we give them what they need to stay healthy - like making sure you get plenty of rest, drink enough water, eat healthy and nutritious foods, and some regular physical exercise. Losing weight is not all about counting calories, you should also not overeat. Moderate portions of wholesome foods are very important to losing weight. Another key to losing weight is not leading a sedentary life but one that involves giving your body the daily physical activity that it craves. Our bodies respond well to physical exertion!
