The Drink Absinthe Absinthe is a uniquely strong liquor which is generally between 45 and 75% ABV (alcohol by volume), about twice as strong as other types of alcoholic beverages such as whisky and vodka. The Absinthe recipe got into the hands of Henri-Louis Pernod who first distilled the drink in Couvet and later in Pontarlier, France un the name of Pernod Fils. Pernod began with a base of wine adding several herbs including common wormwood (artemisia absinthium), aniseed, fennel, lemon balm, hyssop, angelica, dittany, star anise, nutmeg and juniper. Known drinkers of the Green Fairy were Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Oscar Wilde, Ernest Hemingway, Degas, Gauguin, Verlaine and Baudelaire. In France Absinthe became more popular than wine, and the prohibition movement campaigned to get Absinthe banned because:- - Wormwood contains Thujone, thought to be similar to THC in cannabis and thought to be psychoactive. - Absinthe was linked with the loose morals of the artists and courtesans of Montmartre. - Absinthe was thought to cause hallucinations, convulsions and to drive people insane. It was claimed that an Absinthe drinker murdered his whole family – an excuse that the prohibition movement were looking for to persuade the government to ban Absinthe. The consumption, buying and selling of Absinthe in France was made illegal in France in 1915 and in many other countries around this time. Studies have shown that Absinthe, including vintage Absinthe, only contains small amounts of thujone and is safe to drink. Absinthe has been legalized in many countries since the 1990s and here has been an Absinthe revival in many countries, including the USA who have only recently allowed a few brands to go on sale. How To Spy Someone Without Be Seen. Become a Perfect Spy My far better half (wife) kindly bought me a really excellent pair of binoculars for Christmas. A fantastic pair of Leica Ultravid HD binoculars which must have cost a fortune. They are truly wonderful field glasses. This particular pair are amazingly compact and lightweight making them easy to carry around in my pocket. The lenses are coated with a special hydrophobic coating called Leica AquaDura that is really effective at repelling dirt and moisture. When I’ve used them in the rain water droplets simply roll off the lenses and they are exceptionally easy to clean. I was having a coffee time conversation with a colleague about binoculars and we began to list the various applications in which we have each used them. For my part, I use my binoculars almost every day to watch and identify birds in my back garden. Another way that use my binoculars is to look at ships navigating the English channel, which I can see from the back of my house. The shipping lanes in the English channel are always bustling with a great variety of merchant vessels headed either towards Europe or off into the Atlantic. Walking on the south downs is another of my favourite pass time and I’m never without my binoculars. Being high up on the Sussex hills provides and excellent vantage point from which I can view and identify many famous landmarks along the south downs way. My binoculars also enable me to watch wildlife from a distance without causing disturbance. I’ve quietly hidden and observed hare’s, badgers, foxes and even a family of stoats playing in a distant field one late afternoon. My colleague is keen on air shows, ballooning and sports so he uses his binoculars to give him a better view. He goes to all the air shows that are held throughout the summer months at airfields throughout the south (UK). He particularly enjoys the ballooning events that take place in the west country and his binoculars provide an excellent view of balloon pilots enjoying the odd glass of champagne as they drift over the green countryside. But his favourite application for his binoculars is football matches. He tells me that his binoculars give him a much more detailed view of the game, the expressions on the players faces and afford him a lot more enjoyment of the game. If you don’t have a pair of binoculars I suggest you get yourself a pair. There’s no need to spend a fortune on your first pair, unless you have loads of money to spend. I can guarantee they will open up a whole new outlook on the world around you.

The advantage is you dont have to spend as much of your own cash, which can be a lifesaver if you have recording bills and rent to pay. Other promotional merchandise that its worth thinking about putting your band logo onto: Hats and basballs caps, jackets, underwear (yes, you did read that correctly), belts, backpacks, back patches, stickers- if your logo will go on it you need to get it on there and unleashed it on an unsuspecting public. The more unusual the item, the more attention it will attract, but it may cost more because of its uniqueness- so hold off on the 1000 customised zippo lighters with your logo on just for the moment.

The Daleks are almost as important as the Doctor and the Tardis.  The tragic story of the Doctors life is based on his failed mission to try to destroy the Daleks.The Time Lords, understanding the destructive effects of the Daleks on the universe, sent the Doctor back to the time when the Daleks were created.  The Doctors mission was to go to the planet Skaro, where the Daleks were created, and to prevent them from ever existing.  Once the Daleks found out about this Time Lord plan they set about destroying the Time Lords and everything which they stood for.  The Doctors failure in his mission resulted in the most terrible battle which destroyed the not only the Time Lords but also their home planet of Gallifrey. However successful the Doctor is in the destruction and control of the Daleks you can be sure that they will never be wholly eliminated.    The Dr Who Daleks are constantly reappearing in the series.  Their reappearance is always a reminder to the Doctor of his failure and the loss he has suffered as a result of this.  So the Daleks are dreaded by the Doctor more than any other entity in the universe.They are the one nation for whom the Doctor will never offer a second chance.
